Malware and the end

That's it for now. If completed to library learning 2.1 is complete. I haven't learned as much as the first time but that's probably because I'm so late doing it and so many of the topics covered are older now and much more common.
Can't wait until there's more.

mash ups

So much time can be wasted creating mashups. There's so many different things you can create. Time is the enemy here of if you can do them all.

Instant communication

Reading about IM and skype and it makes me wonder what technology will be like in two years time.

google docs

Here's my budget once the carbon tax comes into effect (done using google docs of course)

Event management

Just read about Doodle to organise meetings. If you need to email someone about a meeting, why use another program. It's just complicating things more than necessary just to be seen using all these new programs.

RSS

Just getting a refresher on RSS feeds. They're good, but from experience, you just have to learn not to over subscribe or it's information overload!

So I've learnt what a ning is - they mustn't have really taken off as you never hear anyone talking about them these days.
I've also just signed up to Slideshare and added a slideshow.

survey monkey and feedburner

I've just added feedburn to my blog and explored survey monkey but I don't think they'll be much use for me. Maybe for managers wanting to keep track of website usage but not for me at my level of responsibility.

I think that libraries could use twitter for advertising and like my team leader once said, use it during busy times to tell people when a table or the study room becomes free.

Twitter

I've been on twitter for a while @wendy26wendy but never really utilised it as there's just so many other things to follow:
and the list goes on.

Two years late...

public library learning 2.1 was meant to happen two years ago, but better late than never I suppose.

Let's see if you can teach an old dog new tricks!
